If you suffer from one of the above conditions you will receive annual review reminders asking you to book an initial appointment with one of our Health Care Assistants where she will carry out the background checks such as blood pressure, height, weight and often take a fasting blood test.
An appointment will then be made for a review with a practice nurse who will discuss the blood results and any further management of the condition that may be needed. We strongly advise that you attend for your reviews as this may prevent you developing complications from your condition.

The Bodey Medical Centre has been established in the Fallowfield area of Manchester for over 40 years. Increasingly the Fallowfield area of Manchester has become populated by students from The University of Manchester and the Manchester Metropolitan University. Student residences at Owens Park, Oak House, Richmond Park, Ashburne Hall and Woolton Hall form a large proportion of this cosmopolitan area of Manchester.
We provide GP Doctor consultations as well as nurses appointments for everyday medical problems. We run a dedicated sexual health service as well as an 'on the day' clinic for urgent clinical needs.
Students at the university are reminded that they are required to register with a local GP doctor when studying and staying in Fallowfield Manchester.
Although a large proportion of our local Fallowfield population is student we do still provide GP doctor and General Practice medical surgery services to other members of our community just like any other GP surgery, so all members of the community are welcome to register.
Our Practice supports NHS research
At Bodey Medical Centre we are actively involved in research to help improve medical knowledge about illness and so develop better treatments for patients.
The research is all ethically approved and selected specially for primary care to help improve medical care now and in the future.
You may be invited to take part in research. There is no obligation to take part and if you decline it will not affect your treatment in any way.
This practice works with the research arm of the NHS, the National Institute for Health Research, to promote clinical research and offer our patients the opportunity to take part in ethically approved research studies.
Research has always been at the heart of the NHS. Through research we are able to continually improve treatments and discover the best ways to prevent, diagnose and manage illnesses. It also helps us understand how to best focus NHS resources where they will be most effective.
As a patient, you may at times be offered the opportunity to be involved in research studies which the Practice has agreed to support. The Practice’s level of involvement may range from simply having identified a suitable group of people from our database for an external researcher, to being a site where research activity is carried out.
All of our nurses are trained to carry out travel consultations. This means we have a wide range of appointment times to suit you.
Please ensure plenty of time before departure as some vaccinations may need to be given up to 12 weeks prior to departure. We offer a wide range of vaccines including Rabies. Most vaccinations are free of charge.
We are a recognised Yellow Fever Centre and can offer vaccination against Yellow Fever for which a charge will be made to include injection and certificate.
To book a Travel Immunisation appointment you must call into the surgery tocollect a TravelInformation Packbefore we can make the appoinment. This includes a patient questionnaire which will need to be completed before the appointment.
**Please note new prices will be effective from 30th October 2017**
* Please make sure you have a method of payment on you at your appointment
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
